I had mean to say "getting sounds but no video" in my earlier comment.

Quote:When you say Video Decoder do you mean what is listed in the Playback tab? If so it's just on System Default. I have a NVIDIA Geforce Go 420 32MB on my laptop
Yes, thats the setting I mean. Do you have anything listed other than 'System Default'? If not, then it sounds like you dont have a compatible video decoder installed.

I found that the Freecom section was already present in the bda.ini file anyway (second from bottom)!

Well, I've tried a little investigation and even though the yakumo player works fine, I'm still getting no video with gbpvr.

Config reports that I've got the "mainconcept MPEG video decoder" & the "Nero video decoder" installed.

I actually installed both the "elecard Mpeg2 streaming and decoder pack" and the "K-Lite Codec pack", so I have no idea where the elecard has gone!

Can you recommend a good location to d/l a known working codec from?

This should work. It must be something else then.

Are there any known clashes between drivers?

How about conflicts with ATI Cards/drivers (I have a 9700 pro running catalyst 6.1)?

I suppose I could try removing all codecs, rebooting and then adding just the mainconcept codec in isolation... I'll report back with my findings.

Ahh it's sort of working now!!! Smile
The playback is very jerky and distorted. The sound cuts in and out too. Any ideas to clean it up so to speak?

Hi, first post here. Just bought myself a Freecom USB stick. Installed the software and picked up basically all the channels and radio stations. But the software they provided sucks so through googling i found this site, and i must say GBPVR looks very nice!

Anywho, i followed the very helpful instruction on page 2 (thanks Doughnuts for that!), and got GB-PVR to recognise my device. Then used the UK epg (bleb), which found a load of channels, but when i go on "map digital channels to epg", i get "no channels found, please check signal and configuration".

Any ideas as to what the problem is, like i said im using the freecom usb stick that everyone else is, ive got it plugged into my aerial socket in the wall so i know there should be signal, and ive tried it with the freecom software and also the yakumo software, they both pick up and play all the channels i want.

If there is any more info you need just let me know, would be great if someone could try and solve the problem, really want to get GB-PVR working, and turn my room into an entertainment pad! Big Grin
