wide screen video issue

First, gotta say, gb pvr has blown away mythtv, not just because its easier to set up, but it works. Ok enough butt kissin

only one problem so far:

my widescreen format movies (the only ones i have) are only showing up full screen or stretched. Does anyone know of a fix?

when you say "movies", do you mean directly off the DVD or a DVD rip? if they are right off of the DVD then they should be letterboxed with black stripes on the top and bottom so the actual picture is not fullscreen. if they are a rip then they may have (should have) the black bars removed and you will see the actual picture stretched further.

in either case, you may need to create a custom GBPVR aspect ratio to correctly display the picture geometry. you can find these aspect ratios in the config.xml in the GBPVR directory and you can cycle through them by using the F7 key while watching a video. for aspect ratio control to work in GBPVR you must be using VMR9.

btw, i didn't know there was an apple port of GBPVR...

Actually I use pc. I just own apple as a side project. lol
anyway. To answer your question both, that is, ripped dvds and dvd from disc.

I will try your suggestion and post results.
