I know zaptools gets extra info, but what info goes GB get by itelf?

I'm just trying to find out if I need the "extra" info, and if I can help out zap2it more by turning that off.

zap2it gives you everything. You cant ask for just parts of it.

I use pretty much all the data, except the cast and crew stuff which I discard.

Good...thx.

Which I'm pretty sure I don't use (eg, searching/scheduling by person). They said that uses up 26% or so of their bandwidth, so I'll drop that.

If folks don't use that data either, and use zaptools, it may be worth helping out zap2it and dropping that from your postEPG bat. It will also take some of the grind out of updating the EPG.

Does Zap2it provide a "First Run" indicator? When I trialed SageTV, its program guide knew if a program was a repeat and I was able to skip repeats. That was a VERY useful feature. I believe SageTV gets its guide from Zap2it.

Yes, they do, but I dont use it because its a feature only provided in zap2it, not the other EPG we support (XMLTV, Bleb, DVB).

I'm sure that many Zap2it users would be grateful if the first run indicator could be used to skip repeats in GB-PVR. Without such a feature, a fair amount of manual intervention is required to either prevent the recording of repeats or delete them after they have already recorded.

The problem is, it makes no sense to add a 'only recording first run' option to the user interface anywhere since it wouldnt do anything for most users.

Maybe in a future release.

The current release has something broken with the 'dont recording duplicates'. This has been fixed in the next release, so you should hopefully find things easier then.

Looking forward to the next release, then Smile

I presume the existing setting, when it works properly, only skips programs that you actually recorded at some time in the past?
