Just seeing if anyone has had this before/knows why a PVR150 IR-Blaster simply wouldn't work. I have two cards - a Twinhan DVB-S one, and a PVR150, which uses it's attached IR-Blaster to change channels on the cable box to which it is attached. A program was recorded with the PVR150 at 5.54, and everything worked appropriately:
Code:
16/02/2006 5:54:05 p.m..546    INFO    [22]    Found new programme requiring recording: Prime News - First at 5.30
16/02/2006 5:54:05 p.m..562    VERBOSE    [22]    Changing to channel (GBPVR.Backend.Common.HauppaugeIRBlasterTunerController): 6
16/02/2006 5:54:05 p.m..578    VERBOSE    [22]    Changing channels with Hauppauge IR BLaster: 6
16/02/2006 5:54:09 p.m..140    VERBOSE    [22]    device: 2    region: 1     vendor: 3    code set: 302
16/02/2006 5:54:09 p.m..140    VERBOSE    [22]    digit delay: 100    enter delay: 0     OneDigitDelay: 0     tune delay: 0
16/02/2006 5:54:09 p.m..140    VERBOSE    [22]    need enter: 0    minimum digits: 3
16/02/2006 5:54:10 p.m..687    VERBOSE    [22]    Finished changing channels
16/02/2006 5:54:10 p.m..703    VERBOSE    [22]    Requesting IRecordingSource to start recording: K:\Prime News - First at 5.30\Prime News - First at 5.30_20060216_17301800.mpg
16/02/2006 5:54:10 p.m..734    VERBOSE    [22]    DirectRecordingSource about to start recording  oid:1 channel:6

However a couple of hours later, a program was recorded with the DVB source correctly, but a subsequent PVR150 program simply didn't change the channel, so recorded on the wrong one:

Code:
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..015    INFO    [22]    Found new programme requiring recording: Commander In Chief
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..062    VERBOSE    [22]    Changing to channel (GBPVR.Backend.Common.HauppaugeIRBlasterTunerController): 2
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..062    VERBOSE    [22]    Changing channels with Hauppauge IR BLaster: 2
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..421    ERROR    [22]    UIR_GotoChannel() failed: 1
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..421    VERBOSE    [22]    Finished changing channels
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..421    VERBOSE    [22]    Requesting IRecordingSource to start recording: K:\Commander In Chief\Commander In Chief_20060216_20302130.mpg
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..437    VERBOSE    [22]    DirectRecordingSource about to start recording  oid:1 channel:2
16/02/2006 8:29:00 p.m..796    VERBOSE    [22]    recording started

I have restarted the recording service, and the channel changer appears to be working correctly at the moment, but then again, it was working OK earlier today as well.

Any ideas what the "UIR_GotoChannel() failed: 1" message means? (apart from the obvious that isSmile) or is there some way to force GB-PVR to retry changing the channel if it doesn't work the first time?

cheers,

tieke

Try using the .exe channel changer instead, and point it to c:\programfiles\devnz\gbpvr\HaupBlast.exe

I had a similar problem. It would record off of the internal tuner with no problems , but every once in a while when it needed to change the channel on my STB , it wouldn't work. No pattern to when it would work or not. Doing as Sub suggested and using the .exe channel changer has so far fixed the problem.
