SharperEdge Skin - Released

The SharperEgde is now the default Theme in the BaseSkin. The resolution of the main menu is 1024x768.
Have a look at the text. The edges are really sharp.


SharperEdge Skin (one of the skins in the "Tutorial SixPack)
now has support for Appearence Manager Plugin change background function.
Select between 10 different backgrounds.
I call it SharperEdge, because the buttons are not rounded. Perhaps it should be called Minimalistic?
There is a small freeware program (Tool ImageEditor.exe) in the skinroot, that makes it easy to edit background colors.
For the Appearence Manager, the backgrounds are located in .\Appearence\Backgrounds\Colors\

If anyone wants to adopt Plugin skins, you are welcome. (I don't use any plugins, I just use the recording function )

No icons in the menu
Some plugins does are not returning an icon to GBPVR when requested (returning 'null' instead).
These are the plugins that I have found, not "reporting" an icon to GBPVR.

Finally, I must complement Dottore and Torque for their excellent work on BlueMCE2 and Contour. They have put in a huge amount of time and skills into the work on the XMLs

This skin is almost 100% image based. All images are in the skin root.
Anyone is free to use the use the sub skin XMLs, change the images and the baseskin.xml and get a almost compleatly new design.
There are some fixes here and there to be done in the XMLs....to get it better.
To me it is not the Graohical Design I have put work into, but the "XML design" So copy this and make something nicer.

Also a lot of credits to Sub that implented some of my requests....to make the skins more image based and "mouse control friendly"

Oh, I wasn't looking for any credit, just curious. I made my own TV Guide logo a while back because I couldn't find a decent one for my EPG. I shared it with everyone on these forums a while back but I wasn't sure if anyone actually used it.

Enjoying your skin very much...thanks for the effort...I've added additional plug-in to your skin...however I cannot attach a task image on the buttons in the main menu...I followed directions from your skin document concerning adding the sub-directory title plus _task..into AllTaskImages folder...still nothing.....I've changed some of the menu labels around in Language.xml; However some of the changes did appear, others did not :confused:

Yes, I noticed that to.
But with some plugins an icon show up in the menu and with some plugins no icon shows. With the Files and Appearence plugin an icon show, but with the news and music player there is no icon.
I guess it has to do how the plugin is written. Sub is the one that can ask why icons doe not show with some plugins.

I'm guessing those plugins arent returning an icon when requested (returning 'null' instead). The best thing to do is hassle the plugin author to fix it.

The music player will return an icon if there is an task.png file in the music player sub directory under the currently active skin. If not, it will return null.
