Custom button commands on 45 key hauppauge remote?

Ive searched the forums and couldnt find anything related, so here it goes:

Id like to map the aspect ratio change command (F7) to my remote. How can I do this?

Have a look at the [GB-PVR] section of c:\windows\irremote.ini and you should be able to work it out pretty easily.

I found the file, and mapped it to the red button, but it wouldnt work. Then I remembered that when you change the settings, you have to restart IR.

Edit: What function am I losing by switching the red button? The command was Ctrl+R, but when I do those key strokes, nothing happens. How can I map something to the * and # keys, I didnt see those buttons listing in irremote.ini

Is it a different config file that needs to be edited based on if you're using the Hauppauge IR software or letting GB-PVR control it directly.

If you using direct access to the Hauppauge remote, then you cant configure it to different things for different buttons.

The coloured buttons are used by several plugins - ie I think the red button is used to enqueue music in the MyMusic plugin etc.

I have the aspect ratio mapped to the mute button on my remote, and I think the * key is used in GBPVR, but I suppose the # key is free - * is called TEXT nd # is called SUBCC in irremote.ini.

So Im not really missing anything by switching the red button if I dont plan to use GB-PVR for music. Cool. Thanks.

Don't forget to run "Restart IR" to apply the changes to the irremote.ini file.
