Thought i would join the fun....

My not-quite-as-swish-as-others-here living room:



That gaggle of wires underneath the TV is the PVR in a Lego framework.

Slightly off-topic, if you swung round 180 degrees you would see this:



Which is my workbench, currently home to:

Dell laptop with a knackered screen hinge
Epia Mini-itx file server project thats gone tits-up and stopped working
HP with no HDD after nicking it to test the Epia.
and associated computer debris....

My girlfriend mistakingly calls this 'the living room table' hohoho...

Now THIS is what a PVR living room should look like. Particularly love the lego kit under the telly - forget the swanky room, i'd go for this any day!

Fancy your girlfriend wanting to use the workbench as a coffee table!! Sheesh

The spec of the pvr is Duron 1.6ghz @2ghz| 1GB Ram| 160GB + 250GB harddrive| 5700LE gfx| usb2 nova-t & Nebula pci & pvr usb2 & kworld dvb-t100, the tv has a crappy dvb-t tuner| 800VA UPS

Here's my Setup - First the PC and TV - Just a 29" Sony with a Shuttle SN95G5 (See Sig for more details) - The shuttle cooling is very nice and quite, except unfortunately the fan on the Northbridge heatsync never stops turning and is a little noisy - one day I'll get round to buying a quiet one and maybe putting a resistor on it but its not bad - only a minor hum.

And here it is with the projector screen down - I'm using a Sony LCD 1500 Lumen (Can't remember the model) - Just and SVGA Data projector but it does a nice job - Not too evident in this photo as the camera played with the image too much due to the bright picture and dim lights but it gives the general idea. Its a basic 3m pulldown screen - I'd really like to take the door in that wall away and paint a white surface but my wife doesn't like the idea of having to go around through the kitchen so I have to live with a pulldown screen over the edge of the door - Gives me a 72" picture - plenty in our lounge!

And this is my humble gear. The most important parts are the speakers (Mordaunt Short) and the furniture (home made). Am I the only one without a LCD or plasma tv?



A tiny GBPVR computer with ParaLED and a LCD with buttons. Soon I want to start with a second project: the current computer has far to little performance.

The network cable draped over the wall furnace is now gone. I installed a box and wall plate in the wall behind the entertainment center for the network drop and antenna wire.

the computer's the box on the top right on top of the dvd player. when i'm fully happy with it i'll replace the video with the dvd player and the computer
