I have GBPVR installed on my main desktop with the PVR350 (which is fine) and on my tablet PC. The tablet PC connects to the main PC via a wireless broadband router. The tablet PC does not have a CD or DVD drive.
I need to install an MPEG2 decoder on my tablet PC to read the GBPVR recordings and to play movies in general (off the DVD drive on my main PC).
How is it best to get this decoder? If I run the PVR350 setup it detects there is no card and advises me not to continue.
Is there a better arrangement for sharing GBPVR? Can I share the PVR350 with the tablet PC e.g. watch live TV on the tablet.

Why not just open a network share on your desktop and use that to access your recordings? The PVR350 really doesn't matter here; I think you're under the impression that somehow you can utilize the PVR350 from your tablet, but that's not possible.

You might want to take a look at the thread about a GBPVR networked client, just search for it and you'll find it.

Thanks for your comments. I have done exactly what you have said (share recordings) but I need an MPEG2 decoder on the tablet.
I have no need to load a software application with the decoder eg DVD apps. or PVR350 apps (I don't have the hardware on the tablet).
But is this the only way to get the decoder? If so shall I continue the PVR350 software installation although it warns me not to because the PVR350 is not intalled on the tablet? Or can I just copy the appropriate .DLL from my main PC over to the tablet PC?

Stop with the PVR350 SW because that will try to use the HW decoder of the PVR350

You can download an MPEG-2 decoder from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gplmpgdec

Wahaay! It works! Thanks Sub. Erik, thanks for the warning. Only thing is Deccheck (decoder checking utility) says it is not compatible with v10 windows media player, (lack of synchronisation feature). It appears to work ok though, do you have any further advice? Should I be concerned?
Regarding watching over the network I've seen the recent thread discussing this so I'll follow the other thread. Cheers.
