I have a Motorola 6200 with firewire and have it setup to change channels via firewire with Beyond TV 4.

I couldn't find any information about anyone getting this to work with gbpvr, let me know if you did and how.

Thanks.

I second that!!
I just switched cable boxs on my gbpvr machine, and I am now using the Hauppauge PVR150's IR Blaster. I have been noticing times when the channel numbers don't send correctly via IR. I think it is a timing thing. I was previously using girder via serial to my older cable box with 0 problems.

I have the firewire working for DV capture also.

If you can find an executable that changes channels for this box via FireWire, then you always use the ".exe channel changer"

I dont have access to these types of devices here, so I wont be building native support for them.

After you browes to the command.exe in the Timmmore folder, you need to enter these parameters. Seems to work for me.

-v (device number) {channel}

FWIW, check out the mythtv project. They've got small programs with source (which would have to be modified and compiled for windows) for changing channels on both the Motorola 6200 and the SA 3250.

I found the firewire.zip with the install. I tried the "Channel.exe" in the folder C:\Program Files\Timmmoore\MCE 2005 STB Controller
If I enter a 1 or 3, I get instant blue screen

Here is the output from it,

C:\Program Files\Timmmoore\MCE 2005 STB Controller>channel -v

From your output you would need to enter this in the parameters.

-v 2 {channel}

Open the Timmmore channel.exe program and try this, it should also change the channel.

channel -v 2 10

I noticed that the new one said motorolla, and they used to all 3 say panasonic, so I unstalled all of the devices from device manager.
Then detected hardware, and pointed it to the new .inf file.
2 things installed OK (motorola tuner and panel) and one unknown.
channel changing via firewire NOW WORKS!

BTW, you don't need the -v that is for verbose output, for debugging.

Thanks a bunch, I wouldn't have tried getting newer drivers, I tried this months ago and gave up with the blue screens.

Maybe now, I can capture with VLC, and stream it.

Do you have a link for any of these? I couldn't find them.

Thanks!
