New Skin: Blue-AM

Its Blue with Appearance Manager.

Blue-AM is intended as a starter skin for new skin designers that want Appearance Manager support.

If you are looking for a mature skin with AM support, look to The Collection, Plain Jane, or Chameleon. Olbia and SharperEdge support AM, but I'm not sure to what extent.

The latest version is now available from the wiki!
Note that Appearance Manager must be installed separately.

If you want to create a new skin with no AM support, but you don't want to deal with XML; create a set of graphics files for Blue-AM, use AM to install them, then remove AM.

Somehow the new baseskin.xml got lost. Here is a new, untested version. I'll update, test, and post all tonight.

The zip file is in the wiki.
When I check the time and date they show the new file.
When I download it, I get the old one.

I've also experienced this. For me the problem was that someone (I think it was IE) cashed the zip file, so I did not actually request the new file from the web server. Try emptying the browser cache, or try downloading with another browser.

(When I downloaded the file just now, I got the Blue-AM dated 2006-03-10 10:10 inside the zip file.)

Blue-AM now has a small version of the Occasions Background Pack, which was actually intended for The Collection.

It now has two skins, one with the black rectangle, one without so that Blue can support wallpapers.

Also there are now two button sets, standard Blue and Black/White Outline (transparent center instead of blue).

Remember, Blue-AM is Blue, with the minimum edits required to accomodate Appearance Manager. This makes Blue-AM a good place to start your own skin design. The above enhancements help illustrate how to expand your skin designs using AM.
