Hi,

I just upgraded up to 96.12, and am still having the same problem that folks have reported before.. After converting my recordings to DivX or XviD, the comskip breaks no longer show up. However, if I just stop playback and play it again, then they show up just fine everytime afterwards.

I've used ffmpeg and mencoder, both using the auto-convert feature and manually, and the result is always the same. GSpot shows the files with a correct index and 29.97fps..

At this point I really think its an issue in GBPVR, since everything works perfectly after the first time I play it.

sub, or anyone else, can you shed some light on this?

Yeah, I've been aware of the issue since the v0.95 release. From memory, the Microsoft IMediaDet interface is unable to correctly determine FPS for these files. To fix it, I'll need to find an alternative way to determine the FPS for these files. Its not something I've looked at yet though. I've got it on my list of things to do in a future release.

Again from memory, it affected deinterlaced XVID files, not interlaced.

I'm not deinterlacing the files.. (not using the -deinterlace flag). I've also tried explicitly specifying that I want interlaced output, but still no luck.. btw I'm tried both CBR and VBR.

btw, from a technical DirectShow perspective, what causes IMediaDet to return the real FPS instead of 0 on the second time around? It seems like IMediaDet::get_framerate isnt working right, but maybe something like IBasicVideo::get_AvgTimePerFrame, or maybe pausing the graph before trying to get the frame rate would do the trick? or, for VMR at least I think you could query IPin::ConnectionmediaType on the pin of the renderer filter...

just trying to think of something since this is a strange issue.

OK, I'll take your word for it. This is what was another user reported.

Yeah, there are a few things I can do. Its on my list of things to do when I find time.
