Sorry about the dumb question guys but I tried to use GPPVR to view an Xvid video file of Andromeda. When I press play it just sits there and does nothing. I know the file is ok as I can open it in tcpmp ( The Core Pocket Media Player ).. what am I doing wrong ?

Cheers:confused:

Do you have the codecs installed on the PC? Does it work in media player?

i do not know tcpmp, but VLC comes with its 'own' codecs.
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

Here's a hint for you:

I have tried both the DIVX and the XVID codecs. The DIVX gives a slightly better picture quality on playback for films encoded with both codecs;

But the DIVX codec steals the focus from GBPVR rendering the remote unuseable!

The XVID doesn't have this problem with the remote and will playback files encoded in either format. Additionally, it doesn't attempt to install "extra" pieces of software in a sneaky manner.

I currently just have the XVID codec (koepi's I think) installed and the system runs fine.

Well just to pre-empt them. There's a whole thread on the Freecom stick! Yes it works but you'll have to swap to the Yakumi drivers (read the thread). As a tip, when you do this, put the stick into a different USB port.

Yes you can use Orb although it doesn't support live DVB-T. It finds some channels but they don't work. Instead you can use the web streaming feature (look in community announcements). This works if you start a recording of the current programme then immediately start streaming it as asf format.
