I'm looking for some users from various parts of the world to send me transport stream files captured from your local digital TV broadcasters. Having access to these files would really help for my testing. I have only limited access to DVB signals here in NZ, and these only make use of some DVB features.

This would help make sure things like channel scanning, DVB EPG, AC3 audio etc works reliably, and allow for future features like ATSC channel scanning, DVB subtitles, MHEG etc.

Ideally, I'm after people that already have the knowledge of how to capture these files. I'd like to get large files, so I'll ask those that can help, to save these transport stream files to a DVD or a few CDs and mail them to me.

I'm interested in various European countries, UK, Australia, US, or anywhere else using digital tv.

If you can help out please post here, and I'll PM you my mail address.

Cool. Thats the UK covered.

Ideally, I'd like some big files from each of your muxes. This will give me good mixture of things to look at.

One of the specific things from the UK I'd like to look at is this mux that transmits different channels during the day vs night, so a capture from during the day and at night for that mux would be great.

You've already got my address, but email me if you cant locate it.

Thanks

OK. I'll do this over the weekend when I'll be able to get the day and night slots.

Yeah - unless you moved anything but your office recently, I've still got your address. Smile

Cheers,
Brian

Yep, same address, but my office was relegated to a deeper darker corner of the house to make way for the baby.

Can GBPVR be configured to capture a digital transport stream?

The only time I have seen TS before was with web scheduler. I think then I usually was capturing separate audio and video streams.
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Not really. There is a transport stream mux option, but its only been tested with my specific Twinhan DVB-S card.

You can download a transport stream capture utility for your Twinhan DVB-T card from http://www.twinhan.com/files/utilities/THTSCapture.zip

Let me see what I can do. I might be able to get you some HD with AC3.
We also have some SD with AC3 if that interests you.
