Quote:I got the high cpu load when I set the misc BDA mux tab to "cyberlink".
Here is a list from muxchecker:
Quote:GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0328

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerCinema\Capture\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0117

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0727

Any idea why I get high CPU load?
Which mux is actually used (since I have three?)
When you have multiple versions of the Cyberlink mux, it'll use the first one, which in your case is very old and probably shouldnt be used.

It contains a DVR-MS to MPEG2 converter

it doesn;t work with dvb recordings AFAIK

[edit]
Anyway, as long as you can get the correct (up to date version) of the cyberlink mux, 3rd party tools like this shouldn't be necessary.

Sub Wrote:When you have multiple versions of the Cyberlink mux, it'll use the first one, which in your case is very old and probably should be used.

Just to clarify, do you mean should or (perhaps) shouldn;t be used?

tclarsson: grab a copy of Microsoft Windows XP video decoder checkup utility from the MS site. This will enable you to set your prefered decoder, which I think should be MpgMux.ax.

[edit]: sorry ignore the last bit - mpeg decoders ave nothing to do with muxers - i was getting myself confused

[edit2] so Boworr, you need to unregister these top 2 muxes somehow - easiest way would be to uninstall te powercimema application but this might not be acceptable to you.

you could try doing

regsvr32 /u C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
regsvr32 /u C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerCinema\Capture\MpgMux.ax

but could mess up powercinema.

The most up to date version of the cyberlink mux was 5.0.0813. This was included in the free autodvrconvert program but it lokks like this is no longer available.........

try going with David's suggestion of using the ShowShifter mux but it must appear at the top of the muxchecker table.

Used tool from http://www.softella.com to de-register old muxes.
(tried the command line regsrv32 as well - also works fine)

With the cyperlink 5.... mux gbpvr is now low CPU load producing .mpg - thanks SUB for tip!

Have now stumbled across another issue:
when playing my .avi (DivX or Xvid) ("transcoded" from .mpg) file, there is now a small "jerk" in the playback about every 2 seconds. Very annoying! makes the whole point of compression meaningless.

Anyone experiencing the same thing?

HW:
2.4 GHZ intel
512 MB
256 MB nVidia FX 5700
Win XP pro sp2
gbpvr 96.12

How do I check version of divx and xvid codecs?
Here is one list i managed to produce, see attached picture

What divx and xvid codecs do you recommend?
How can I make the software select the right codec?

I've had poor luck with dvrmstoolbox. it freezes after converting about 20 MB of show that were recorded with my fusion 5 USB.

Under BDA multiplexers what is the Transport Stream option? Trying the Cyberlink mux but it is still recording dvr-ms instead of mpeg

sorry for abandoning the thread - my pvr pc crashed and i have been busy rebuilding it.

tclarsson: I don;t know why your dixv recordings are skipping but I would uninstall those codec packs that you appear to have installed.

you can get the latest (6.1) divx codec from divx.com and xvid from http://www.xvid.org/.

I asked about your pc spec in case they were underpowered - which they obviously aren;t. have you tried viewing one of your trancoded files on another machine, just to make sure that it isn;t the recording?

crickert: The TS is for Subs development use only. The BSA muxer options do not show what you have installed, only what is supported. If you have selected cyberlink and you still get dvr-ms, you do not have the cyberlink mux file (mpgmux.ax) installed. This is a licenced mux that is available with certain applications - search forums for more details. It can be a pig to get hold of.

I just picked up an KWorld ATSC100. I've finally found the Cyberlink MUX and the muxchecker reports "VERSION: 5.0.2022" installed as my first and only registered MUX. When I request a recording, it is still saved as drv-ms. When I try watching liveTV, it displays about 5 seconds of video before crashing.

I previously had the InterVideo MUX installed. GBPVR saved drv-ms files with that as well, and no liveTV at all.

I've rebooted a few times, but still can't seem to convince the system to record staight to mpg2.

Any suggestions?
David

There was a bug in the v0.96 release that meant the ATSC users couldnt use an option other than DVR-MS. There was a patch that fixed it here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=20
