More XMLTV Problems

I'm installing the newest version of GBPVR and I have removed all files associated with it, including XMLTV which was working fine before i uninstalled it. I'm currently trying to reinstall XMLTV and am running into some problems. I have installed XMLTV automate and have edited my Run update TV listings - US.bat to read as follows:

%1 tv_grab_na_dd --configure
%1 tv_grab_na_dd --days 7 --old-chan-id --output xmltv\TVData.xml
COPY /Y xmltv\TVData.xml %3
%4 %5
%6 %7
exit

I then run auto update XMLTV for the first time with "Run the fix for U.S. channel ID's'" checked and run thru the hoops that follow , but i always end up crashing out with the same error :

XML TV Format CHanger
FILE NOT FOUND

Any ideas on how to work around this? I am a complete newbie and step by step instructions would be very very helpful . Thanks.

This is not really a GB-PVR question, so out of my field of expertise. Hopefully one of our USA based users will be able to help you out.

Can you get xmltv to work outside of xmltv automate? I'm not sure what all automate does but it could be out of date in comparison to the new tv_grab_na_dd.

to be quite honest, i don't know how to operate XMLTV without Automate? I haven't been able to find a step by step on XMLTV anywhere?

It is fairly easy to use but then again i'm a unix programmer and live in the land of command lines.

Now that zap2it has gone account based it makes it easier using the american grabber. Use a command shell and change directory to where you have your xmltv installed and execute the commands like in your shell script

tv_grab_na_dd --configure

work through the prompts (make sure you have created an account), then execute

tv_grab_na_dd --days 7 --old-chan-id --output xmltv\TVData.xml

You may need to create the directory "xmltv". Not sure if the grabber script will create this for you or not,

Colin.
