With the PVR350 decoder still disabled, does <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio> and <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio> help at all?

With that, net radio doesn't work at all (doesn't even start to buffer) but the music library still works. I also tried removing the second line completely (it wasn't even in my config.xml, I had to add it manually) and doing that at least gets it buffering again, but still no audio.

Its interesting that it doesnt work with this set. In this mode GB-PVR do any of the streaming or playback itself, instead it just Windows Media Player to play the net radio URL. This kind of supports my theory that something is wrong with the directshow decoders on your machine. I dont know what exactly though - sorry.

Its normal that you wont see any buffering messages or song name or anything when playback is done via Windows Media Player, since GB-PVR has no visibility of what is happening.

Well as I mentioned before, I installed the entire XP codec pack and it didn't seem to solve anything. Is there some way to check or manually tell the system what mp3 decoder to use? I just installed GB-PVR on another system (no encoder card or anything, just wanted to test net radio) ... and it works fine

That makes sense, it still didn't play anything though (no sound) ... do I have to reload this entire machine to solve this problem or is there perhaps a less drastic way?

Can you try setting Windows Media Player settings to false again, then start netradio playback, then go to the main menu and press and hold the right arrow? I just want to make sure you dont just have the volume turned down.

Aha! A hidden volume control setting Wink And, It's alive! That gets net radio working (at least for the moment)...and the music library works too, sort of...the stop button doesn't work so if I start multiple mp3's playing they all play over each other.

Ok so now what's the next step, try setting it like this?:

<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>
<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>

Edit: I tried the above, net radio still works (apparently it was the hidden volume control all along) but the music library "stop" button still doesn't do anything, if I start multiple mp3's they all just play over each other until either the song ends or I exit GB-PVR.

This problem affected some people in this release. There was a patch posted somewhere here in the last couple of days. I'm sure you'll find it.

I'm sure it'll be fixed in the next version, right? Wink I'm not too worried about it, I don't use the music library feature anyway, I just copied a few files over to troubleshoot the problems with net radio. Thanks for the help, I can't believe it was such a simple solution.

Its not really that hidden. Its just the volume up/down button on the Hauppauge 34 button remote.
