Source of weather information

Now that the weather plugin works well, I guess it's time to change it

The Weather Channel (http://www.weather.com) offers a free xml weather feed. The also have icons that can be used. I plan on looking at that closer over the next day or two and most likely trying it out. If anyone has any experience with it, please let me know.

Reading through their sdk documentation, they have some pretty strict requirements including linking back to weather.com from the screens that display weather data. Maybe I will stay the way we are right now. They do have weather icons though

Would it be possible to have the Weather Plugin accept multiple msnbc locations in Config, and provide an optional  "Next location" button on screen?  Switching between two locations would be a good start as far as I am concerned as a small traveller :-)

Yes that's possible. I just gave the source code for this plugin to sub to post on the site. Someone (you?) coud add that if you like. If no one does (and I get some time), I will do it.

New release of Sub's/CodeMonkey's Weather plugin tested on GBPVR Setup016:
I have allowed up to 10 alternative area codes to be specified in the Config screen.  The UI and functionality are virtually the same as v2.01, except for the addition of Left and Right arrow buttons which now swap to alternative area codes.

Nicely done. But I have a couple things:

1) Maybe the celsius selection should be selectable on a area by area basis?

2) I was thinking there was an problem when I first displayed the plugin. I didn't see how to go from area to area. Maybe put selectable arrow buttons on the screen (using the skin.xml to be skin friendly ) ?

3) I put a code in areas 2 and 5 (skipping 3 and 4). Using the right arrow stops after displaying area 2. Maybe have the config shift areas up automatically to fill in holes when OK is selected so that won't happen. This could be a big help if you have 10 entered then decide to eliminate the one at position 3

Good ideas CodeMonkey, but it's still stable... so I think I'll quit while I'm ahead :-)

If anybody else wants to take over the work, that's fine by me.  I need to spend more time on the PicturesPlugin
