Hello, @ll !

I found GB-PVR last weekend, after trying some of the other frontdends and I must say, that for me as newbie at these things it is really PERFECT !

So first of all: Thanks for the good work.

But as always with newbies there are still some questions left.
Some of my questions where answered by the forum and some things I found at Google, but now it's your turn.

I use GB-PVR on a DELL Dimension 8300 with a Hauppauge PVR 350, a NVIDIA 5200 FX Graphic-Card and a SB Audigy 2 Sound-Card.

The TV is plugged into the NVidia and the line out of the PVR is plugged into line-in of the Audigy.

So far anything works fine ... but now the questions.

1. I could not get the fm-radio to find any stations.
The GB-PVR starts a search but NO station is found.
Are there any settings to do for the fm-radio ?

2. The cd-player-plugin starts its work, finds the
tracks on the cd ... finds the cddb data, starts
playing (I see title and the time of the track is
running), but i hear nothing !
Trying the same under Winamp (without GB-PVR running)
anything is OK and I hear the sound from the CD.
What to do with this problem ?

3. I read that it would be useful to use a second
TV-Card for the EPG.
I have a Studio TV Terminator 7131 here that I could
use for that but it is not supported by GB-PVR.
Is it possible to use this card for EPG without
implementing it in GB-PVR (standalone) ??

4. When using FF (fast-forward) in time-shift-mode
I loose the sound of the TV and it won't come back.
Is that a known problem or can I solve it ?

I think this is all (it's enough, isn't it ?)

If you can help please don't hesitate to write down all you know about these things, because I'm really a FAN of GB-PVR and I want to use it !!!

Thanks in advance

I don't really know the answers to your questions, but I do get a bit confused about your question nr 3. Whan exactly are you trying to do? The TV-card has nothing to do with the EPG, really? (In the analogue world, which I assume you are in since you use a pvr-350, ) the EPG gets it data either from zap2it or from an xlmtv file, which you put together by downloading data from the internet (either by xlmtv or some other application that creates xmltv files...)

That said, you might get you unsupported card to work by reading this thread:

Try using the add function and adding the frequencies manually - IIRC I had problems with the scan - you have got the FM aerial plugged in right?

@Stefan

Thank you ...
I have read, that TV-Cards can also receive EPG Data and it would be useful in this case to use a second one for this issue.

@elite
Thank you too ...
Yes, the aerial is plugged in correctly.
So you think the stations are to weak to be recognized by the scan ?
If I scan with the Hauppauge Radio-Tool they are all recognized, so I will try to set them up manually.

I do know that certain dvb cards (all?) can retrieve EPG data if available in your area. GBPVR can take advantage of that, but only for the freeview channels that are broadcast through dvb...

for question four, trying going into the config application, going to the miscellaneous tab and ticking 'use short skip instead of FF'

not a direct answer to why you loose sound, but you might find it works better.

Agreed. Fast forward has a tendency to not work too well...

@Stefan again ...

I have tried these xmltv thing via Net with several software (WebEPG etc.)
But it seems I' just not experienced enough to get it run ... and so ... I hoped it would be easier to do it via the TV-Card ...
If anyone could help with pluggin' in a webbased EPG to GB-PVR I would be happy to use it.
