Few JPG files causes GB-PVR MediaMVP Server to crash when I view them via "My Pictures" and the MVP box.
Maybe one out of 50 JPG pictures causes the crash. All pictures were taken with the same digital camera, and all were resized with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2. In any other way the failing pictures looks perfectly normal.
If I remove the few failing pictures from the folder, the slideshow runs perfecly.
GP-PVR on the PC can view all pictures, only MVP crashes.
It is not enough to restart the MVP box, only a restart of the MediaMVP Server program can bring the MVP box alive again. Sometimes it hangs so hard that I cannot stop the program, and I have to reboot the PC.

PS:
I have resized the JPG files to a size of 150kb because I have experienced that MVP doesn't lige big JPG's. The size should not be the problem.

Am I the only one who have experienced this strange error?

Can you send one of the problem image files to me at support@devnz.com?

I have/had this problem, too. In my system it went away by reverting to an older dongle.bin. Like you I couldn't see any difference between the pics that gave problems and the rest. It was consistent, too.

If you've got one of these problem files handy, you could send one to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub
I have sent two of those JPG files causing the error, by mail. Hope you can figure out what is wrong and hopefully find a solution.

I just checked one of the pictures you sent, and it was able to work for me. I tested it as a background on my MVP. Your problem is probably a problem in the 'My Videos' plugin. Can you zip and attach the gbpvr.exe.log file?

Hi Sub
I have attached the logfile. 18.10 I try to view the jpg file simply by selecting it in My Pictures, and click OK on the remote control. MVP freezez, but a restart of the MVP bring it back running. I restart it 18.11. I didn't have to restart the Gb_PVR, so maybe the bug is in the MVP box.
I have two MVP's, both of them act exactly the same way.

I wont really be able to answer the question myself, given I've never used My Pictures, but hopefully reven will take a look at the log.

Hi Reven
I have attached two falining JPG files. When I view them via My Pictures in GB-PVR on the PC, everything works perfectly fine. In any other programs like Photoshop, Paintshop Pro I cannot see any difference in the failing JPG's compared to the other ones. They look perfectly normal.
Only when I view them in My Pictures via MVP, individually by selecting them and pressing OK on the remote control, or in a slideshow, the MVP stops when it shows one of the failing pictures. The picture is shown on the TV, but there is no reaction no matter what I press on the remote control. Normally it is enough just to unplug and replug the power plug on the MVP to force a restart. Few times the GB-PVR software on the PC also needs a restart.
I have two MVP boxes, both act exactly the same way.

While I was writing this message I just got an idea. I haven't tried to view the files via the MVP software provided by Hauppauge, I will try that tonight. That will show if the bug is in the MVP box or in the My Pictures plugin.
