How to end recording manually?

I see posts about recordings not stopping, but I have a different issue.

I pad the endings, but sometimes I know a show has ended on time. I cancel it, but it won't stop recording. Even more odd is that it disappears from the pending list, and isn't in the ready list until the last minute is past.

How do you tell recording to stop? I seem to be able to do this w/ ones that have just started, but it never seems to work if you try in the last few minutes.

I found out what needs to be fixed: If you try to cancel a recording while it is in the padding period, it goes into limbo. It doesn't canel, it disappears from pending, but doesn't go into available. It's still recording, becauase you can't watch TV.

Could it adjusted so you could cancel a recording, or end it somehow, while it is in the end padding? I don't think the front padding matters as much.

Same problem here, if a recording is in post padding time, it is not possible to cancel the recording - would be very useful to have the chance to do that.
