It's written in .Net. AFAIK you can run any .Net app that was written to run on .Net 1.1 on 2.0. I would have never thought to try it, but I read about similar problems someone else was having and they said that after installing it, their setup was stable.
Since I can recreate the problem, and resolve it after installing/repairing .Net 2.0 Beta, I think it's clear that it has something to do w/ .Net. Like I said, I'm no programmer so I can't explain exactly why this is the case. The only thing I can think of that would cause things to suddenly start having problems is either Windows XP or a 3rd party app is replacing a shared library or binary somewhere. I'm going to dump my C:\Windows\System32\DllCache folder so I can make sure WFP isn't the culprit.

I promise that I don't work for Hauppauge (nor own stock, married the owners daughter, etc.), but I have had very good luck with emailing Hauppauge tech support. They've always responded rather quickly (can't remember exact time offhand, but I remember that I was surprised by a quick response), and they were actually quite helpful. I guess as with all companies offering tech support, it's luck of the draw as to whether or not you get someone worthless or useful, but it might not be a complete waste of time to email them, and then follow up with a phone call if you don't hear from them. I don't know about you, but I don't have the time to call them, so email was the only way to go for me. Luckily, it's always worked out well.

GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

Well .Net 2.0 came out of beta on the 3rd, I removed the beta and installed the final build. All seems stable except for playback of WMA files which causes trans2mpg to crash. I'm not worried about that since my tuner records to MPEG. The few WMA files I have I can watch on my computer.
Hauppauge did finally send me another email regarding the D3 model and the supposed overheating issue. Here is the email: "The reboots definitely sound as though they are hardware related. I do not have return information based on revision number so I cannot tell you if the D3 is more prone to this or not. As I stated previously we will be happy to set up an RMA for you to send the unit in for repair/replacement." I'm not going to RMA the unit b/c it is completely stable using the stock software. It even plays WMA files flawlessly with the stock software. But I much prefer GBPVR to the boring Hauppauge software. Thanks to Sub for all the hard work.

I would RMA it anyway. Seems they have an overheat problem that pops up. That being said, Haup is willing to RMA any D3, that should tell you that they know a problem really does exist. I'd want a knew one.
