Sorry if this topic looks a bit like the one below but his solution (BDA issue) is not the card I have (which is a PVR-150).

My MVP has started rebooting a fair bit on LiveTV since the 96.12 update. It occured 3 times in about an hour last night.

I use the MVP conected to a wireless router in WDS mode to my wireless router (both WRT54GS) attached to my PC.

I realise the wireless mode is fraught with issues, but it was quite stable prior to the update, so if it happens again, is there a log that I should send?

k.
[EDIT] For ease of reference and as this is the first post in the thread, Sub made a patch http://www.gbpvr.com/mvp-related-patch.zip. Only apply this patch to a v0.96.12 setup!! Sub's post http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=9...stcount=29 He said

Quote:You'll need to put the gbpvr.exe in the gbpvr directory, and gbmvp.bin in the dongle directory. Even if you're not using gbmvp.bin, I've supplied it because it matches the protocol used by this gbpvr.exe, and you'll need this specific version if you decide to use gbmvp.bin.

I upgraded to 96.12 yesterday, and i experienced about the same, but not when watching LiveTV (which i didn't really try because channel switching just doesn't work well for me since 96.8 Sad), but when watching recordings.
Unfortunately i can't tell if the MVP really rebooted or if it just fell back to the main menu.
I've been using dongle.bin and a wired network connection btw.

I’ve been trying to track down the same problem.
I also found that the commercial auto-skip stopped working completely, and several other strange things.
I completely un-installed v96.12 and all the plugins, tried a fresh load, same problem.
Went back to 95.16 and everything works fine again.

My desktop has a fast 7200 rpm system drive and works ok with the new version if nothing is running in the background.
Unfortunately my main GBPVR system (a portable mounted in the entertainment center) has an ageing 4200 rpm drive. It looks like version 96.12 has finally outgrown it.
Time for a faster drive I guess.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I suggest you try plugging in a cable and see if you still get the problem.

I'm not aware of anything that has changed when you're running dongle.bin, with the exception of the handling of the skip key. If you werent pressing the skip key at the time, I'm inclined to think you're having problems relating to the use of wireless.

Yes, playing a game on the main pc. Big Grin

But to be serious, the gbpvr machine was just playing the recording.
There was no task scheduled for that time either.
Unfortunately i wasn't able to look into the logs yet, but it seems to me that this is something like a "buffer underrun".

I hope i can get to it in the next few days to investigate further.

I had the same problem of restarts with the 96.12. I too went back to the old version. However, in hind sight, I realized that I forgot to tweak the delay settings. In 95.16, I had the same trouble, made my pre-delay 7000 and that seemed to do the trick.

I noticed a distinct drop in video quality when I tried 96.12 and unfortunately that quality stayed with my return to the old version. I think I might strip it out completely and reinstall the whole set-up.

My MVP is rebooting when playing back recordings. I didn't see this happening prior to 96.12 (can't say about 96.8, I didn't run that very long). My MVP is wired and the source computer was otherwise idle during playback.

I've included my log files. There were two reboots tonight watching Cyberchase (my kids...not me!) around 6:40-6:50 EST.

To help me find the problem, when it reboots or disconnects, were you doing anything at the time. i.e. were you siting back on the couch not touching the remote, or had you just tried to skip? or fastforward?
