I'm not sure what the call this problem, but here I go.

When I play a recording, a video file or live TV I am unable to use the controls untill I click.

What I understand is hapening is that when the video starts playing it brings GBPVR out of focus (Not: you dont actually see anything different). At this point most (maybe all) of the controls dont function. If I use the mouse to left click (thus bring it "in focus") then I can use all the controls (ratio, FF, RW, guide).

Is this a known issue?

At first I though it was a codec problem, I tried every codec I could think of and they all do the same thing.
Then I thought it was the sub-par video hardware on the ASUS Pundit so I tried it on another system of mine that has a Radeon 9600 Pro. Same results.

At this point I also beleive a friend of mine is having the same issue on his Pundit-R (ATI Based). I have not tried it on Nvidia hardware (Will try later today).

Anyone else have this problem? Is it just a setting or something I'm missing?

Its most likely related to whatever video you're trying to play, and the decoder it has to use.

The Divx6 decoder is known to steal the focus when you play a file. It starts some silly tray icon which moves the focus.

I'll have to lookinto that, I had thought about it for a second, I was always testing using divx tv episodes since thats what I use most. I'll have that a shot and report back. Do you know if its possible to prevent divx from doing that?

Well after thinking a little more, I started to check the codecs. It turns out that DivX6 Generic MP4 playback was what was being used to play XVID. After i installed xvid and set the system up I no longer had the problem with xvid files, but still having the problem with Divx files.

I tried all sorts of settings and evenually I gave up (for now, still testing on 2nd system). I ended up uninstalling Divx6 and installing something like 5.01. Everything works great now.

Sub I just wanted to say thanks for making such a great program, and for being so helpfull in the support forums, I'm sure this whole thing takes a lot of your free time away.
