I am trying to play AVI files through GB-PVR and all I get is a blank screen. I have to shut down the sofware to get out of that. The AVI files play fine in WMP and PowerDVD (my default decorder). I looked at the logs, and nothing shows up after starting the pay xxx.avi file. Any ideas?

Reproduce the problem, then post your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log files, and I'll take a look.

is this blank screen from your own encoded avi files from mencoder? I found that some of my encodes from mencoder had funny bitrates and caused my intervideo decoder to only display a blank (black to be precise) screen in GBPVR.

For example, if I encode to 1200 kbs...mencoder would encode to 1202 kbs according to gspot. If I set the bitrate to 1000 kbs however, mencoder is okay and actually produces 1000 kbs. Weird, but once I set the bitrate to multples of 1000 mencoder was fine. On the other hand, even though intervideo didn't play it, zoom player played the resulting avi (divx) files just fine. Now, the file still wouldn't play in GBPVR. In VMR9 mode, it only played the audio. I had to switch over to the the Nero Decoder in order to get sound and audio.

No errors were found in the gbpvr log or gbpvr-native log.

Ok, I have a correction, the file format is WMV, not AVI. These are HD sample files I downloaded from microsoft to play on my HD TV. I was able to play them through GB-PVR at some point, but now, I can not. PowerDVD works best for me, Intervideo (the only other decorder I have) screws up aspect ratio, PowerDVD (Cyberlink) does not, regardless of the source.

If they are DRM HD samples, then they wont work in GB-PVR.
