Have installed and configured the 2 TV tuners on the card and its working excellent with xml EPG - however would also like to setup the FM Tuner. Can see its listed in the plugins in the config utility, however when I try to scan from the GB-PVR it says "unable to locate FM tuner". I can access the FM Radio Tuner from my MCE application, however would like to be able to use the GB-PVR as I think this is a much more userfriendly (more flexible) program. Do I need to install some driver or what?

You need to set one of your two PVR500 capture sources to be the 'pvr500 with FM' card type. Which one? It seems random, so pick one and try it. If that doesnt work, try the other one. For most people it's the second tuner, but some have the first tuner being compatible with FM radio.

OK - Will try that, but will I still be able to watch a tv program in MCE while recording another on the GB-PVR?

Managed to screw my setup up ... have fixed it, but Im back where I started!
Both my tuners have been setup with the "Hauppauge PVR500 with FM Tuner" - When Im scanning I can hear its finding Radio Channels, however its not storing anything. I have tried changing the source mode to on the internal tuner to "Antenna" in stead of "cable" and changing the EPG list to "none" - but still its not finding anything when scanning. Could you please spell out what im supposed to do?

This is a known bug with the drivers supplied by Hauppauge. It depends on the tuner used on your card as to whether the drivers successfully returns the DirectShow SignalPresent() indicator to pinpoint FM stations. You'll just have to use the 'Add' button to manually setup stations.

Hopefully Hauppauge will fix this in future.

The Hauppauge FM Radio app uses some private mechanism for finding radio station, so doesnt suffer from the same problem. Unfortunately this is not available to third parties like myself.

THe "private mechanism" for Hauppauge FM is itself extemely buggy. The supplied radio app is extremely prone to crashing. Strange that Hauppauge do not advertise the "variable" nature of their drivers on the web site, Similarly they do not explain that it is really easy to screw up your install when upgrading drivers - and not even their hardware clear utility actually removes all traces of drivers.

The MCE500 driver has been updated recently and now it is possible to set tuner2 capture device into FM mode or TV mode. Some previous drivers denied that the MCE500 had an FM tuner.

But before updating any drivers with the word Hauppauge on them you must do a full Ghost backup of your drive. You really can trash your windows install.

Managed it recently myself.

I have a Nova T and an MCE500 - and wish I didn't.
