I am using CDKschedular and I am very happy with its functionality.
However my disks are getting very full Smile

Is there a way to delete old recordings automatically according to some rules?
I do NOT use GB-PVR for viewing so it has to be fully automatic and it can not use any human interaction.
It should also work if I do not have time to manage the GB-PVR computer for some weeks.

Any suggestions on what I should use?
P4 3GHz 1GB, 250GB, nVidia dualTV, GBPVR 1.3.11, XP

There is a postprocessing.bat utility called "recinfo" that can take various parameters and pass them to a batch file that it calls. One of the parameters that it has available is the amount of free disk space. From what I've seen of your batch files, I suspect you could cobble something together that would check the space available and delete the oldest entries. I would probably echo out an if line evaluating available space and a file to delete, and then call the sub bat file until room was available.

It is probably possible to parse out available room within a batch file too.

Here is a page with a batch file to delete the oldest N files from a directory:

You can also do a search for a program called MaxRecordings. If you can't find it on the message boards, post a message here, and I'll post the copy I use.

It was originally written by ZaddaZ, but it has an XML based file that you setup the name of the show, and the number of recordings to keep, if it goes over the number of recordings, it'll automatically start deleting the older recordings.

I've been using it for months, and it saves me a load of headache's managing my wife's recordings.
