I have installed all the MyVideos and MyDVD utils to burn shows to DVD and went thru the forum looking for various solutions. Here's the problem, I select the shows in MyDVD and start the burn process. Gets past step 1 then hangs on step 2 (the DVDAuthoring part). I ran the convert.bat file thru DOS and get an error about demux.ajb not existing which in my D:\Temp dir there is no file, just temp.xml. When reading the guide it says I can demux files if I burn many shows but for now I am experimenting. I tried running demux commands at DOS as described in the forum:

demux.exe -a demux_queue.txt d:\video\reba\reba.mpg (this part works)
demux.exe -d demux_queue.txt (get a common language runtime debugging service window and error in dos about it being out of bounds of array)

Is demux required before running convert.bat? What am I missing? Thanks!

Yeah, I found that post and downloaded the older version of pva because of the calling issue.

Still no luck getting the files to demux and convert. Could someone please post their bat files for convert, dvdburn, and the demux post bat files so I could compare them to mine? I know I have to be missing some big step, or with my luck one config setting, here somewhere! Thanks!

try running each command in the .bat file in the command prompt manually, that should help you find the error.

the convert.bat file should just create compatable mpeg2 files saved as the passed outputname (i think its param %2, look at the wiki for confirmation).

the hardest part is usually getting past step 2, the final stage nothing really can go wrong (well hopefully).

When I run convert.bat from command prompt, I get:

C:\PROGRA~1\devnz\gbpvr>"C:\utils\pva\cmdshell\cPVAS.exe" "D:\temp\demux.ajb"
Cannot open job: D:\temp\demux.ajb
C:\PROGRA~1\devnz\gbpvr>"C:\Utils\dvdauthor\mplex" -f 8 -o
*here I get a listing of parameters saying option requires an argument -- o*
C:\PROGRA~1\devnz\gbpvr>del "D:\temp\demux.ajb"
Could Not Find D:\temp\demux.ajb

I can now run convert.bat and the first command created the demux.ajb file and temp files but when DVDauthor starts in the batch it says Error: Unable to read from D:\Temp\temp.mpa and cancels. I have tried it on 3 different mpg files I recorded and all are the same. I don't have a PVR hardware card and am using a WinTV Go tuner with software encoding plugin. I searched the web for any mention of this error and couldn't find any related. Any ideas? Thanks!

That's what I am thinking. But I have been trying all my video files and I got one to finally work somewhat but said it may have a bad data stream. I started to burn but I got and error about an unknown video ratio then said error about VIDEO_TS dir. Will it create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS dir or do I need to add them in my temp dir? Thanks!

dvdauthor creates the VIDEO_TS dir, but if you cant create a mpeg2 file it will accept, well you're buggered.
