I'm having some problems with videos that have a ratio of 16:9 showing as full screen (4:3). Its kind of annoying looking at tall skinny people all the time. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

F7 is the default key to change aspect ratios. I think it only works if you're viewing on a PC or connected directly to your PC's graphics card, not on an MVP.

I'm having the same problem for Live TV, but f7 doesn't do anything - I think it doesn't apply if your restricted to using Overlay.

download and install ffdshow and then configure ffdshow to maintain the original aspect ratio, and then that should do it (you may have to tick the box in the gbpvr config to enable ffdshow).

I can use F7 to change the aspect ratio temporarily but it reverts back to 4:3 each time i view a video. I installed FFDShow and configured it to maintain the aspect ratio and configured it in the GBPVR config but nothing works. Anyone have any idea what i can do to fix this?

you have to set ffdshow to run when mpeg2 files are playing back, its under the first tab i think. turn the osd on in ffdshow and if that doesnt show up in gbpvr when playing back mpeg2 files then you know you have set up ffdshow to run with mpeg2 files correctly.
