Guys, thanks for a really first rate forum. Thanks to the info here I've read and browsed my way through many problems and have my NOVA-T and MVP with gbpvr recording and playing back a dream. Credit to Sub and all contributers....

And so on to my problem. I have installed the Video Archive plugin and have it showing on the menu when I view the PC. When I fire up the MVP its not there?? The DVD Ripper and DVDtoMpeg features are however. It may be something really simple in the config but I can't pin it down. When I view the "Video" button from the pc menu, recordings are listed by date and not by name?? I can't find anything via the search about these problems and they have me stumped. Ive done lots of rebooting - unplugging etc. still no "video" button on the MVP menu??? Hope this is the right forum if it needs to be under plugins please move it over.

Post your gbpvr.exe.log file and that may point to the problem. Also, what skin are you using? Is it the same one on the PC and the MVP?

It looks like the file C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Flat Blue\panels\vapanel.xml is missing. You can copy vpanel.xml from the blue skin. You might also need to copy the commondialogs sub directory over to the flat blue skin folder.

hmmmm not only is C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Flat Blue\panels\vapanel.xml missing but the whole directory is not there?? I copied it over from C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\panels\ and over wrote the commondialogs sub directory, still no joy!!!

One thing I have just noticed, I can connect to the GBPVR-mediaMVP server even if its not running as I just found out when I rebooted and then fired up MVP without launching the server!!!?? could this be a problem?

If you repost your log, I can look to see where it is getting stuck now. You might also try the blue skin one time just to conform that it works fine with that, and thus that it is indeed a skin-related problem.

I'll repost the log in a bit have to drag it over a network! I've tried all skins so don't think it's skin related as changeing skin in the config app registers on the MVP. Still no VA !!

Can you post your config.xml file? Something looks odd in your log. Actually, I have another idea. Can you copy the archive skin directory from the blue skin to your active skin. This should happen automatically, but maybe it didn't.
