Hi All,

Finally managed to get my system fully set up only to find one last hurdle!

I can use winTV and GBPVR (with the software decoder option) perfectly fine on my computer monitor.

But i want to be able to use the TV out from my Hauppauge PVR 350 card to my TV (using the composite out to scart lead).

When using the TV out with winTV it works fine, i get the picture on my TV and can watch it for hours.

When i start GBPVR (having selected the hardware Hauppauge decoder option rather than software) i can get the GBPVR menus on my TV, and i can select the net radio, weather etc. menu options and they all work fine.
But as soon as i try to watch a recording or watch Live TV from GBPVR on the TV, the display on the TV freezes after a few seconds of playing.

I'm running on a MSI Mega PC 865 with Windows 2000, i used the latest drivers from the Hauppauge website when i installed the card.

Is there any settings i can change to fix this?

Many thanks for any help.

Cheers, Alex

The PVR350 drivers are well known for this behaviour on some machines. WinTV doesn't exhibit this problem because it doesn't use the OSD features of the PVR350 drivers. Both GB-PVR and SageTV use these features, and both have the problems associated with this on some machines.

All I cant really suggest anything other than updating you drivers to the news ones on shspvr.com (1.18.21.22254). These drivers seem to have help several users.

Woohoo!

Thanks sub, that worked a treat, haven't tried channel changing yet, but the picture now doesn't freeze up immediately so hopefully its all sorted.

Thanks very much for the help.

Cheers, Alex

In my observation, you need to install 350 into a PCI slot with the bus-master bit set. I can control this through BIOs setting. Sometimes it is the slot next to your graphics card slot. On my machine when I let pvr-350 be the PCI bus master the tv out freeze has vanished for live TV. (There are other instances when it freezes but I can run live TV for as long as I want without a freeze ).
