I have two PVR150MCE cards in my system, both connected to cable, and working fine. I'd like to add an S-video capture source using one of the cards. I believe I can config a card to do both (cable & S-Video), is that right?

I'm a little unclear on how to set up the capture source for the S-Video. I have the cards set up as Source Names PVR150-1 and PVR150-2. -1 is Board Number 'Capture Device #1' and -2 is 'Capture Device #2'. I assume I need to add another capture device, say Source Name SVID, with Capture Card Type = PVR150MCE and Source = 'S-Video, External Tuner' but what should the Board Number be set to? Capture Device #3?

Once I have the capture device set I think I can handle the EPG set-up.

The channel changer will be another challenge but that's for later...Big Grin

Thanks...

You'd need to setup multiple capture sources on the same device#.

I'm about to do this as well, but I would like some clarification on the epg.

How does the EPG show up? Is it one integrated tv guide? Also, when I switch channels in live tv how does that work? On the same note, when I manually enter a channel, how does it know what tuner I'm using?

Thanks

When you say device#, does that equate to the 'Board Number' box? If I want to use my PVR150-1, for example, I should add another capture source with Board Number set to 'Capture Device #1' (the same as for capture source PVR150-1)? And it should have a different Source Name, right? So I'll end up with three capture sources, two of which have the same entry in the Board Number box but all three have unique Source Names?

Thanks...

Yes.

It doesnt really matter. GB-PVR doesnt use the names for anything. It'd probably useful for yourself if you give them different names.

Yes, it just shows up as one combined list of channels in the tv guide. There are no indications there are multiple capture sources involved.

Just like it normally would. If it needs to switch capture sources, then it will.

Quote:On the same note, when I manually enter a channel, how does it know what tuner I'm using?
When you change channels, it tries to use the same capture source if possible, but if it doesnt have the new channel, then it'll switch to a new capture source that does.
