I think I've found a couple of annoying bugs in GBPVR v0.95.14:-

I use the Hauppauge 45-button remote that came with my Nova-T with GBPVR and over the last few days have been experiencing a really annoying bug. Often, pressing "OK" causes the cursor to jump UP before the OK has effect. Switching off "direct access to Hauppauge remote" in config seems to have reduced the problem somewhat, but it is still definately there

What really makes this a total hassle is the fact that there is no delete confirmation in the Recordings plugin. So I go to watch a show I've recorded, press OK and then the damn remote jumps UP and deletes what I was going to watch. This really is incredible frustrating - there doesn't appear to be confirmation dialog (or is that just my custom skin I wonder?)

The other bug is that quite often GBPVR crashes immediately after the delete with an error message that I can't unfortunately read on my TV. What seems to happen is that the deleted recording and its folder doesn't disappear from GBPVR until you exit and restart.

the second error is skin related. the confirmation is there, but can not be displayed because there is something missing in the skin-file. what skin are you using?

you should post machine specs, skin and installed plugins and maybe some logfiles....

It's the blueMCE2 skin (what else Wink ) and I've just noticed your post about the delete popup in the other thread so I'll make that change and see if it sorts it later.

The problem with posting configs, logs, etc. is that I often can't get at the machine I run GBPVR on during the day, only at night. The bug is easy to reproduce though, I think the error message says something about not being able to delete a folder or something, very hard to read on the TV as it is a standard windows MessageBox rather than a GBPVR error dialog.

Cheers

You definitely should have 'direct access to Hauppauge remote' disabled. That is intended for PVR250/350 owners using the 34 but remote.

It sounds like there is something wrong with the Hauppauge remote control software on your machine. It just sends keystrokes to GB-PVR. If your is sending both 'up' then 'ok' when you press 'ok', then its not sending the correct keystroke.

Don't know quite what is up with the remote just yet, will wait till I've had chance to use it a bit now I've turned that option off.

Now that I've fixed my skin, I was able to reproduce the delete error - the error message that pops up says "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk". The recording does actually get deleted however. I will check and see if this problem has gone away in the new version that was released today when I get a free moment.

Regards

Happy to say that the delete recordings bug has now gone away in the new version. Also haven't had much trouble with the remote today either, so I'm a happy camper.

Cheers
