Hey y'all

Do you know how to change the visualization behind displayed? When I had Win Media Player, there was a "random" mode where the vis would not always be the same, dunno how to activate it. I don't have Windows Media Player installed, so I don't have the usual interface to access that parameter.

Also, the viz seems to be very low resolution. When I click on it to make it full screen, I got big pixels flying all over the place :/ Any idea if that can be changed?

The only place to change the default visualization is in Windows Media Player.

I've not noticed it being low resolution or anything similar. It seems to me that the resolution matches the pixel size of the visualisation window.

So I have to reinstall the WMP interface? Do you know if the parameters will be retained when I get rid of it again ?

For the res, each pixel of the viz is about 5 to 10 pixels wide when I put everything in full screen on my PC...

Check the above pixelisation (and that's only in a regular GBPVR window, couldn't take a full screen screenshot)

Seems that way to me too.

Yes, if you need to change the visualisation. They dont expose an API that allows me to provide this feature in GB-PVR.

I dont know. I have WMP installed.

Some visualisations are finer than others. You may have a default that is quite chunky (probably for performance reasons).

Here is the one I'm currently using. It doesnt look pixellated or chunky to me.

I just tried that specific viz you included a screenshot of (Ambience series), and I agree that one looks a bit chunky. It looks the same in Windows Media Player, so its not a GB-PVR thing.

I dont think they're really intended for viewing within a few feet.

Actually, I just found you can change the resolution for some of the visualisations. In WMP, go to tools, options, plug-ins, then click on visulizations, you may select the visualization you want, and tweak the visualization as you wish.

MMMk, reinstalled, and you were right, there's a res setting that forces it at 640x480 for full screen mode and 256x192 when in a window !!!!

The settings stay when you disable Windows Media Player through the control panel Add/Remove windows components (found out that it doesn't erase the files, just disables the player)

Noticed a small bug. Once you maximize and reduce the viz with mouse clicks, the keyboard shortcuts (to pause/play/next, etc...) don't work anymore. you have to enter another screen to make them work again

EDIT: Actually, it happens just if I go to another window and then back to GBPVR....

If you google for 'TwistedPixel' you will find a WMP vis plugin that gives you loads more control over the resolution/mesh size etc and allows you to program your own presets. its basically Milkdrop for WMP.

Im a big Milkdrop fan so was quite pleased to see this
