I have a question about skipping/FF/RW. I have the "Use short skip instead of FF/RW" option unchecked as I prefer the FF/RW function but when I start a video playlist of MPEGs or choose "Play All" for a folder of MPEGs, I want to be able to skip to the next MPEG in the list.

I can't find a button on the remote that does this. Is it possible to have FF/RW enabled yet also be able to skip videos in a playlist?

Cheers.

There is no 'skip to next video' button regardless of whether you're using the 'short skip instead of FF/RW' option.

The close you can get is pushing Ctrl-O (catch up), which jumps to the very end of the file, and will switch to the next file a couple of seconds later. Ctrl-O is blank key on the older 34 button Hauppauge remote. I dont think there is a key for this on the 45 remote.

OK sub, thanks. Is there anyway I can bind one of the spare keys on my MVP remote (one of the colours maybe) to skip to the next video? GB-PVR does everything better than the Hauppauge software apart from this one tiny little thing. I have a huge music video collection which I like to stick on 'shuffle' and 'play all' but need to be able to skip to the next video.

Is there any file I can edit to give me this feature?

Cheers.

As I said above, there is no 'skip to next video' feature. The closest you can get is pushing Ctrl-O (catch up), which jumps to the very end of the file, and will switch to the next file a couple of seconds later. Ctrl-O is blank key on the older 34 button Hauppauge remote. If you have the 45 button remote, you could edit irremote.ini and set one of the keys to send Ctrl-O (then restart ir.exe).

Thanks, I tried this but the result is not good. Is there any 3rd party video plugin that allows skipping of videos or is any plugin going to be limited to the controls available to native GB-PVR?

Also, just out of curiosity, how come there isn't a skip option anyhow? All other media playback utils I have come across have this ability. This is not critisism, I think GB-PVR is mint, I'm just genuinely surprised it doesn't have this function.

No, they are limited the controls available in GB-PVR.

Its just not something I've needed, so I've not added it. I've probably only had two people ever ask about this over the last two years, so it mustn't be too important to most people.
