Hi

This problem occures fairly often. Last night one show was recorded successfully, but the recording that started this afternoon ended up as a 0kb file. When I checked the PC after getting from work the MS "do you want to send an error repport" dialog box greated me, GBPVRTray still think that the recording is on going.

This happens from time to time, i get the feeling that the first recording always works but the second one fails.

I use 0.96.16 with a pinnacle 300i used strictly with DVB-t

Is there mor logging that I can enable, or is there anything else that can assist in finding this problem

I have attached the loggs and some more files.

Thanks for providing GBPVR, apart from this problem it works great. Smile

When it crashed did it tell you which module was at fault? Or is it possibly listed in your event viewer?

Some DVB-T had problem like this with a specific version (5.0.07xx?) of the Cyberlink mux. Maybe you're also seeing this? If so, it'll list MpgMux.ax as the module causing the crash.

Just spotted sub got here first but I'll post this anyway...

Next time you get the exception pop-up (the one with 'Do you want to send to MS' etc.). Check the link that says 'Details' (or similar). Is the info similar to the following?...

Code:
szAppName : gbpvrrecordingservice.exe szAppVer : 1.0.1970.26188
szModName : MpgMux.ax szModVer : 5.0.0.727 offset : 00018fcc
IF so then you're not alone - a number of people have had this in the past with various DVB cards. I use Nova-t cards and I gave up on the Cyberlink mux in the end as it would do this to me maybe 1 in 10 or 20 recordings - really frustrating.

At one point I had 100% stability with the ShowShifter mux (install the demo of ShowShifter to get it). Unfortunately, after a system rebuild, something wasn't right and I had instability with that too.

I use the DVR-MS mux option these days with ASAP transcoding to MPEG-2. It has minor side-effects in that the resultant mpeg2 files are prone to losing video/audio sync. on my MVP but stopping/re-starting generally fixes this. Otherwise, this is the most stable way of recording DVB that I've found.

Cheers,
Brian

Spot on!

I looked in the event viewer and there it was, MpgMux.ax (5.0.0.727) is the source of the problem.

I will try the DVR-MS => MPEG-2 route or Transport stream for a while.

Thanks for the quick replies.
