I have my gbpvr machine sitting under my tv with a 54g wifi connection to my network. I have a lot of divx on my "main" pc.

On the pvr i have mapped a drive to a share on the main pc, with reconnect at startup ticked and this drive is added in gbpvr settings as a drive with video.

The problem is that whe i go into the video section and choose the folder there is nothing in it. If i get the keyboard out , go the windows explorer and double click on the mapped drive it opens up with the files in. If i go back to gbpvr it shows everything.

So it seems that when either machine is rebooted i need to force windows to reexamine the shared drives somehow.

Has anyone else managed to get this setup to work? I dont want to keep getting the keyboard out.

Hy,

I was strugling with the same this morning on my son's machine and found out that manually inserting the UNC path (\\server\\xxx) in config.xml solved this. In this case you do not even need to have the drive permanently mapped in explorer.

i had a similar problem - i had mapped drives, and sometimes gb would tell me that it couldnt get to the drive.... so i started using UNC (\\servername\sharename) and it works great for gbpvr, but EWA doesn't like it. it shows the name of the item, but you can't download anything from it.

but hey - at least my media that's stored on the network is much more consistent to get to with the remote from the couch! EWA would be nice, but there are other ways to share the media... that machine already has a real web server on it, so i just have to make symlinks. Smile

I had the same issue with drives not showing up.

You can force the re-connection using a login script which runs
"net use x: \\server\share"
(x = drive letter to assign)

Then the network connections should be fully restored at login and the files should be visible to GBPVR.
