S-Video Out question....Newbie here ;)

I have a laptop, Hauppauge USB2 tv tuner, and GBPVR as my software. I am wondering if it's normal that I have only a black screen when I use my S-Video out? I can see my windows just fine, but cant play any video, nor can I watch live tv.

Normal? Thanks a lot for your time

The TV needs to be the primary display.
