i'm in the US and looking at picking up an ATSC HDTV tuner card...i was wondering if anyone on here could speak to having a good experience with any particular card.

from the forums i've gathered some problematic usage with a few cards, but perhaps that's just because for those that have it working, it just works and they don't need to post.

so if anybody can recommend a card that works well with gb-pvr, i'd really appreciate it.

trying to get HD before the superbowl,

I'm using a DVICO Fusion 3 Gold card and it works fine. Others are using the Fusion 5 card successfully as well.

There are a few of us that tried (some may still be trying) to get the Fusion5 USB to work. I gave up on it. Sounds like the cards are the better way to go for some reason.

Will the card record HDTV using GBPVR?

Thanks

disclaimer: i'm still learning about HDTV stateside (or anywhere for that matter), so i may not know what i'm talking about.

as per other threads on here, the QAM interface of the windows device driver (for the fusion cards) is not publicly exposed, so i think that means people here are using OTA HDTV -- is this correct? this is what i would be looking at doing. from other things i've read, one must install an antenna, no?

Yes, thats correct. I'd like to support QAM, but that would require information from dvico. I tried to contact them in the past but they never replied to my emails.

Check out the second post of the thread listed below. I wrote a detailed tutorial on setting up HDTV OTA devices for folks in the US.
