Hello All,

I'm trying to get hipsend to work, I've configured HIP with my STB commands and I can send the commands to the STB from the HIP configuration however that's all I can do' it won't send the commands from within GBPVR. I've set it up to use the .exe changer plugin and have pointed to the hipsend program and have {channel} in the parameters.

Also if I run hipsend from a command prompt it doesn't send commands, I'm assuming that as I can send the commands from the HIP configuration HIP is configured correctly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you got hip set to produce a system click? if so does it click when you change channel in gbpvr or when you run 'hipsend 1' fom the command prompt?

sounds like hip isnt listening out for HIPSend commands then.

save your hip configuration file and then load the attached one up, might make it easier to explain if you're looking at the config file.

in this config file, go to file->preferences->tab:Alternative Input

in the box listing the System-Wide Keys, theres a Hipsend0 to hipsend9 listed. you need to replicate these in your own configuration, and then point them at your equivalent stb commands before HIP will respond to HIPsend commands.

If you still have problems, zip and attach your hip config file and i'll take a look.

Thank you very much Ricklous you are a legend.

I don't know why my config wasn't working but when I put yours in and configured my commands it worked.

Thanks for giving the time to help me, I really appreciate it.

OK - Call me stupid, but I am trying to get the IR blasters to work as well. I have the Hauppage PVR150 MCE kit with the grey SMK receiver and RC6 remote. I don't neccessarily care about making the remote work as I am using a MVP. Hauppage does not really give you any SW for the remote as it uses the WinXP MCE SW and it works in MCE for the most part. Channel changing is poor, but the hardware works. I've tried the MCE option in GBPVR, tried making HIP work, and can not get any response from GBPVR. I can't find the HIPSEND app anywhere on the GBPVR website. As well, the HIP website talks about the actual Windows MCE remote. I have the Hauppage knock-off. Basically, I just want to make the MVP work. I have a PVR150 w/FM, a PVR150 MCE and IR transmitter/receiver, a Fast PC (3GB, 2GB ram, 250GB HD, etc...), and 1 MVP so far. I have Dish Network 301 and 501 receivers and 2 IR Blasters to go with the tranmitter. BTW - The HIP option states that it only supports 1 blaster. Any suggestions or help would be great. I have tried reloading SW and reconfiguring and at my wits end.

dito, same here.

The latest IR32.exe from ftp.shspvr.com can "understand" the RC6 Remote, but you have to use the "normal" drivers, not the MCE Drivers for your TV-Card.

How to get the IR-Blasters work? I don't know. The MCE-IR Plugin used by sub can receipt my Signals from my Pace STB-Remote..., but that is all.
Programm say ok, but i can nothing do with this... -.-

EDIT:
No, i don't want to use girder, usb-uirt, HIP or some stuff like this. This PC shall be a very stable MediaCenter PC. Any new and unused Program makes more options for Systemerrors.
It has to work with basicequipment, i think.

Apollo,

Quote:Channel changing is poor, but the hardware works.

Do you mean slow response? this can be down to the delay between doing something on the STB and seeing the result on your GBPVR screen. the delay is something we're stuck with as a result of the signal having to go via the 150, being encoded, and then through your PC and being decoded again. When i first started building the PVR my STB would take something like 10 seconds to respond, i found it speeded things up if i switched off the OSD on the STB. now its something like 3 seconds, which is as fast as its gonna get for me...

Cant help you with all of of your issues as i dont have the Hauppauge variation, but on your blaster problems:

Quote:I've tried the MCE option in GBPVR,

Do you mean youve tried the new channel changer plugin for the MCE or just set the remote as an mce? Go to your Capture Source settings, and set 'channel changer' to 'MCE2005IR Blaster Plugin'. Sub answered a thread where he explained how to teach the MCE2005IR Blaster Plugin commands to change your STB, do a search for that and see if you can glean any advance from what he says.

Quote:I have Dish Network 301 and 501 receivers and 2 IR Blasters to go with the transmitter. BTW - The HIP option states that it only supports 1 blaster

Having only had a quick look at it, id say the GBPVR inbuilt plugin for the MCE blaster could support two STBs. Concentrate on using that instead of HIP, which can only collect commands for one STB from GBPVR.

Quote:I can't find the HIPSEND app anywhere on the GBPVR website

HipSend is hosted at the HIP site, on the 'HIP Extras' page, my error for not pointing this out on the wiki. i'll update it. sorry for the confusion.
