I just got a new DirecTV box so I am having to go from serial control to IR blasting with the MCE 2005 blaster. I installed and setup Hip with the MCE 2005 remote and I also had HIP learn the IR commands from the DirecTV remote. I then successfully tested the IR with HIP, the blaster would light up and the channel on DirecTV would change. However when using HIPsend the IR blaster does not light up and the channel does not change. What am I doing wrong or failing to set up?

just use my net2hipsend...Smile [link in sig]
easier to setup and faster and more reliable..

the odd thing about setting up HIP's blasting is, you have to 'learn' the nums to blast from hipsend.exe as if it were a new remote...Big Grin
meaning, when you 'learn' the blast num keys to respond to, instead of hittting a key on a remote, you have to run in a dos box, "hipsend 1" "hipsend 2" etc etc...[not talking about the settop box remote's codes]
otherwise it'll never know to blast only when it receives input from hipsend...it would respond to every time you hip a num on keyboard..
[hipsend.exe is just like any other 'key' on a keyboard]

so if you want it to blast when it receives a hipsend 1, then you have to learn it as 'hipsend 1'
in systemwide keys...[keys always available no matter what has focus]
you should have 0-9 in systemwide keys...

also, rec service has to be logged in as current user or interact with desktop checked..

my net2hipsend doesn't have these requirements...just add blast codes then use net2hipsend..Big Grin
rec service can be logged in as anything, and no learning of blast input keys, 0-9 are typically in hip systemwide keys already..

Thanks a million. I got it working. I had to redo a few DirecTV keys but I think that's because of how they code their keys.
Rereading the HIP guide in Wiki I see I skipped over step 7 for some reason. A note about your Net2HIPsend should be added to the beginning of that step. Hopefully someone with rights to the Wiki that reads this adds that note.
