I'm having trouble with channel changes on Live TV causing the GBPVRRecordingService to crash.

If I just put in the channel number and give the system time to accept this and process it then things seem to go fairly smoothly (with just a bit of a hiccup when changing channel).

However if I do 'chan number' + 'OK' or use the 'ch +/-' buttons then the whole thing seems to crash - the MVP gets stuck in a stutter and when I come through to the PC the GB-PVR Recording Service has crashed.

Logs attached - I was wondering if this line had anything to do with the problem...
Code:
04/02/2006 18:44:16.942    VERBOSE    [29]    RecordingFactory.LoadNext24HourEvents()

Cheers

Hi Alan,
Your mention of "stutter" could possibly be the same symptom I had

However, I never found a solution [http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=10525]. (Haven't used gbpvr for a few months : waiting for a RAID controller, to rebuild my PC)

That probably doesn't help you, because if it's the same issue then "sub" didn't know a fix. But you never know Smile

Cheers, Mark

Cheers for the post, Mark - does sound a bit similar. I don't use Live TV that much at present but will try it out when the next version of GB-PVR comes out (DVB EPG hopefully being fixed in it! Big Grin)

I used to have a problem w/ a bad 150 driver install that made channel changes unwatchable (hiccups, stutters, jerky playback). I suppose if this was more of a strain (or my sys was less able), it could have caused a crash.

If you're inclined, try doing some driver reinstalls. Only a wild guess, and may have nothign to do w/ this/.
