Hi everyone. I have a Dish 322 set-top box. It has two tuners (for two rooms/TV's). One tuner controlled by an IR remote, the other by a UHF remote. Unfortunately, I got the UHF remote, and I was wondering how I could have GB-PVR change the channel on the set-top box for me. Anyone know of a UHF channel changer or some other way to get it done? Thanks.

if i'm not mistaken, that box still has the infrared eye on the front even if you opt for the rf remote...point the eye at it and scan for codes with the irblaster config...it should find it and be able to change channels even if you use the rf remote...
[most of the boxes that support rf remote also support ir remote as well]
you can probably check with Dish to find out for sure, otherwise there's no real option i've ever heard of to spit out those type of remote signals..
[hint:my dish box scans in as a 'star choice' [#28] model so let it scan through all of them]
let us know if that works for you Smile

edit: oops,if i remember those 'dual' boxes correctly, there may not be an eye on secondary tv, is there an eye where you wish to use the remote? is the rf remote on the main box or the secondary tv?

Yeah, the 322 has an IR window on the front as well as an IR blaster of it's own. But how would an IR blaster hooked up to my computer tell the box to change the channel on tuner 2, and not tuner 1?

yep, that's the crux of the problem then...i dont have one of those boxes but i've set a few up and if i remember right it uses just a cable out to the other tv so it has to use the rf remote in the other room since there's no remote capability otherwise, so unless there's an option in the box's setup to let you use an ir remote on tuner 2, i don't think it's possible..
and even if it does, how to differentiate between remotes? and most blasters can only be setup for 1 box at a time so unless you had 2 different blasters it would be a problem..
do you want to tune both tuners with the blaster? or just the secondary one?

i would suggest using the output to the 1st[ir] tuner for the GBPVR input and using the secondary tv-out as your regular tv...that way gbpvr could change channels and you could use the rf remote for tv watching in either room..

need more info, not exactly sure what you want to have on either tv..doubt both tuners will be available to GBPVR [you'd need 2 capture cards too] because of the remotes..but it should work if you just want one of the outputs for gbpvr and one for regular tv watching..it will have to be the ir remote one for gbpvr and rf for regular tv..
make any sense?
