By popular demand I've uploaded a version which should address the blocky font with the MVP client. You can download it from http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup012a.exe

From the release notes:
- Fixed blocky font appearance on MVP
- Fixed the MVPOffsetY which wasn't working in the last release.
- Now gracefully handling the MVP disconnect/reconnect/poweroff/poweron etc.

Yep, that did the trick! Thanks for putting that out so fast!

So I've played around with it a bit now and just a couple comments about the UI. I don't know how hard this would be, but it sure would be nice if the music folders used the image associated with the folder rather than default.jpg. On most of my album folders, I've downloaded a thumbnail which usally has some crazy name, and then selected it as the "Folder Picture" under properties for that folder (XP). Maybe use that picture first and then if it doesn't exist use default.jpg? Again, I have no idea if that's some easy coding that you didn't think of or if it's more difficult don't worry about it!

Also, when I'm navigating between songs / album folders it's kinda hard to tell which one is currently selected when I stop moving it for a bit. As it moves, it's easy to pick up on which one got hilighted, but if I stop, look away for a second, and then look back it's hard to make out which one has the heavier border.

Last, I'd really like to be able to random play my playlists!!

Overall, pretty cool product, and the price sure is great! Now you got me tempted to go buy a PVR-250 and try watching TV through it.

Oh yea, one more thing. I changed the resolution settings back out to 720 x 480 w/ 0 offset, but that pushes part of the image off the screen? Shouldn't 720x480 be full view on my NTSC screen?

Thanks again for all your hard work!

I'll add some of the suggestions to the todo list. There wont be any more releases over the next week or so as I'm tackling a large task I'd been putting off.

720x480 wont necessarily fill you screen, there are overscan issues with most TV. These are much worse with regular TVs, but you may find that you plasma is setup for one source which doesn't quite match that put out by the MVP. Theres nothing more I can do in this area I'm afraid.

Ok, I'll monkey around with the settings and see what I come up with.

Just another idea on the folder picture idea. How about if there is only 1 .jpg in the folder it uses that? At least for me, I have one folder for each album, which contains all the mp3 files and one .jpg for the cover art...

I'm a database programer and always hate it when the users give me goofy requests, so don't be afraid to slap me around if I get out of place! [Image: tounge.gif]

I've never done any Windows GUI programming (my experience was with OS/2), but playing around and looking at the registry, here's what I've found. When a folder is customized with an image, a new key named Logo (a string) is added to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags\XXX\Shell
where XXX is an integer that represents the specific folder. The value of Logo is the full path of the image.

I don't have a compiler, so I can't test these, but look at
Shell basics
Getting a folder's ID
and this

I think I'd save this for version 49.0 [Image: biggrin.gif]

Middle of summer ? Lucky guy !

BTW, I'm testing GB-PVR since 0.10 and it's probably the best (for my needs at least) PVR software for WinTV-PVR-350.

I'm planning to do a web scheduling interface between the only EPG site available in France (tvtv.fr) and the gbpvr.mdb file.

You don't plan to modify it in the future release of GB-PVR ?
