i've changed a couple of things. first of all there is appearance-manager support now. it comes with different backgrounds, buttons and main menu-styles. i want to add more plugin-styles in the near future.

please don't use the background-feature. use main menu background. somehow, the plugin-background-feature defaults to the color-folder....have to investigate a bit.

i have added the new channel-name-tag in the recordings-screen.

i would like to skin more plugins, but either they don't support 800x600 or they cannot be skinned totally....so this is a silent call to the plugin-developers....please please please add a bit more skinning and support for higher resolutions!

download from the wiki and enjoy!

As of right now, Appearance Manager only uses images in the COLORS folder for plugins. I have been discussing a change with Old dog to use the same, or similar, method as mainbackgrounds. He sounded like he is intending to make this change, it just may be a while due to his schedule.

A quick fix is to add those images into the COLORS directory untill a change in Apperance Manager is made.

Fatman_do is correct on both counts but before following his advise (it would work) please allow me to show how AM is intended to interact with your skin.

Its a simple change and you may be pleasently suprised.

On the way to work, bye.

dottore,

At the moment I cannot test, or even see, what I am sending you. You should probably backup your directory first.

The attached zip file contains four .png image files and a new skin.xml for NetRadio2. I selected NetRadio2 as an example because you had a screen shot of it in the wiki.

Download the zip to your Olbia directory and unzip there.
After installing the changes, use AM and change the background to any color you like.

Yes you will be restricted to colors only. That is AM's intention but it does not limit what you can do in your skin design. You need to do things a little differently, but once you get used to it, you will see that you can do more, more easily, than you have done in the past.

I will have more to explain later.

Best Regards,
David

i know what you mean....i wanted to add this changes to the next release. this is not the problem, the problem is, the color-thing isn't really useful for me, when i change the background it overwrites the background.jpg in the skin-folder with the chosen jpg from the Appearance/backgrounds/Color-folder. for olbia i need it to be the same background as the main menu.

i am thinking of replacing "background.jpg" with "MainBackground.jpg" in the plugin-skin-files... then the appearance-manager-button would be useless.

it would be a nice appearance-manager-feature if the skin-authors could control which buttons will be shown in the appearance-manager-plugin.

This is a good temporary solution.

This can be done, please post it to the AM thread.

back again!

did i miss something? next updates will include the background-thing. i saw, old dog changed a bit on appearance manager, when i get some time i will make those changes to olbia.

other than this, i cannot do much on the skin at this stage. most of the plugins, i wanted to skin (or users wanted me to skin) don't support larger resolutions or simply are hard coded.

cheers.

Welcome back dottore! How was Olbia?

I have updated AM as you wished regarding backgrounds. Task images are separated from panels, now they can be enabled independently. Language preference can be selected from AM and the translation files are within your skin directory tree so they can be tweaked for it.

Did you stop by Sassari?

David
