Last night I tried playing a DVD for the first time since the recent upgrade and it failed.

Inserted DVD in Drive G
Selected DVD from Main Menu
Screen goes to black, DVD spins up then stops, screen remains black
GBPVR no longer responds to commands (Back/Esc, Keyboard ESC, etc.)

Logs attached

1st: Your CD-Player Plugin is missing some Files..., they aren't within the contourHC Skin. I think you'll get errors if you start the Plugin.

2nd: Did you install the new Version of the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder? I had to reinstall my CoDecs after updating to the new Versions. Without updating all of my CoDecs i couldn't watch no DVD anymore!

Thanks

But I'm not using the CD-Player Plugin. The problem is with the built in DVD player function. I do not get any outward errors when starting --- it just doesn't do anything.

I have not upgrade the NVidia decoder since my original version some 4 or five months ago.

The DVD worked find in the previous GB release and it doesn't now. No changes other other than the GB upgrade.

I've just installed 96.12 and will try it again this evening with this release.

After the 96.12 upgrade there is no change. Selecting DVD causes the screen to go to black, the DVD spins up briefly then shuts down and GBPVR no longer responds to commands either from the remote or the keyboard --- it just "goes away"

Reproduce it then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

The logs look ok.

I assume G: is your correct DVD drive?

Have you tried any DVD decoders other than nvidia?

Yes, G is the DVD ROM. I haven't tried any other decoders because a) it was working before the move to 96.08/12 and b) the nVidia decoders are working fine on TV.

I'll see if I still have the Intervideo or Cyberlink decoders around and install them for a test. Thanks for the suggestion.

i think this is related to the new version of gb-pvr. I have this problem too.

Try to watch DVD -> only black screen. I have to kill the Process with the Taskmanager.

But: If i "reinstall" any DVD-compatible CoDec, GB-PVR can play DVD... until next Reboot... then the same game.
Reinstall CoDecs -> watch DVD -> Reboot -> watch DVD not possible -> Reinstall CoDecs -> work...

But only with GB-PVR and WMP. If i use Nero Show (use it's own CoDec) than there's no problem...

Hm..., GB-PVR Bug or DirectShow-Bug? (were there any updates last time for DirectShow/WMP who could be responsible for that?)
