I am trying to test conversion of dvr-ms files into mpg with gbpvrconvert.exe. I recorded a 3 minute show in HD. The converter runs, but does not seem to finish and gets stuck somewhere with 100 CPU usage (until I kill it). I tried to use dvr-ms and cyberlink (which I have installed) muxes, but both show the same behavior. How long is the conversion supposed to take with a 2.0 GHz processor? Also, does GBPVR run comskip after the conversion to mpg, or do I have to add it to postconversion.bat manually?

The reason I am doing this to get comskip to run and eliminate commercials.

Thanks.

Converting a .dvr-ms file to .mpg usually only takes a couple of minutes regarless of size. It just has to remux the file.

Quote: Also, does GBPVR run comskip after the conversion to mpg
No it doesnt.

Thanks for the quick reply. It seems to convert the first 15 seconds (22,806 KB) and then do nothing and still use 100 CPU. How do I go about troubleshooting this issue?

If you can make a relatively small HD file that shows the problem, and can make it available on a website, then I'll download it and try it myself.

I dont have access to HDTV here, so its not something I've ever tried.

The Cyberlink mux may not like AC3 audio.

Thanks, I will try to do that. The file does have AC3 audio, which may be the problem.

Sub,
If I choose cybelink mux, is it not supposed to produce mpg files? I get dvr-ms instead. The mux is installed and I verified that with muxchecker.

Yes, it should. Zip and attach the logs that show a recording and I'll take a look.
