PVR500 MCE - PVR150 - install mostly successful

Hi

After a few scary moments i now see to have all thee tuners going - yay to me.

The only problem i seem to have (and hopefully this situation wont come up often). Recording an antenna based program on one PVR500 tuner, recording a cable based program on the pvr150. So I have one spare.

Can get through the antenna programs defined on the other pvr500 tuner (these are nz channels 1, 2, 3) then when it goes to set channel 4 from the cable box (which should be on the pvr150 and in use) get a black screen and then it drops to the menu.

Would have expected the no tuners available. Is that expected.

If i stop the pvr150 on the cable channel, then watch that cable channel (7) then change channel back to an antenna channel (6 - on the spare pvr500) then it changes as expected.

So all in all fairly successful. I guess my only question is should I get the message saying no tuners available??

Also while I'm here, I can't seem to make the tuning assistant work with the pvr500 (either tuner). I'd like to adjust my tuning slightly to get it better.

Is there anything I need to do for this, or is there anything else i need to be able to scan the channels.

Some of mine are a bit dark, so I'd like to clean them up (fine tune) them a bit.

The tuning assistant is a pretty simple app, it doesnt allow you to specify the card instance. It'll only work with first instance. The PVR150 and PVR500 share the same drivers, do you'll only be able to test one of the three tuners - probably the PVR150.

yeah I found that, and looks like the PVR500's tuner doesn't give a good a picture but I can live with that.

Anther thing. In transferring over I just disabled the channel source for the PVR150 for the antenna (called Antenna) by clicking on the check boxes in the config app.

When I went to watch something later on all I had was static. Looking at the status from the gbpvrtray it said that Antenna was in use even though it had no channels. Had to delete that channel source entirely.

Looks like GBPVR still thinks there are channels attached to a channel source even when they are disabled.
