I have a Freecom USB DVB-T stick, with the Yakumo BDA drivers installed. Originally, gbpvr worked fine, but the epg was incomplete (not all channels), so I started mucking about with the settings.
Now, I have managed to kill all video (live or recorded), but audio is ok.

This is driving me crazy, because I love gbpvr (in the 2 weeks that it worked), and really want to use it, but can't.
Looking through the logs, I have found something odd, please can anyone help?
GBPVR.exe-native.log:

22:27:12.609 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: default
22:27:12.609 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioDecoder)
22:27:12.609 VERBOSE getSetting(DeinterlaceMethod)
22:27:12.703 INFO pFG2->RenderEx(pOutputPin, AM_RENDEREX_RENDERTOEXISTINGRENDERERS, NULL) failed: -2147220968 (trying normal render() next)
22:27:12.765 INFO pGB->Render(pOutputPin) also failed: -2147220968

Is this "failed" video renderer my problem, and if so, what can I do about it?

Its probably caused by the decoders on your machine. In the config app, what video decoder and audio decoder options are listed, and what do you currently have selected?

Video Decoder options are "System Default", "Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder" and "Nero Video Decoder".

Audio Decoder options are "System Default", "MPEG Audio Decoder", "CyberLink Audio Decoder" and "Nero Digital Audio Decoder".

Audio Renderer has a whole pile of options, but I'm not having an audio problem, it's only video that's missing.

Currently selected is "System Default" for all three. I've tried all options, no difference.

The "Video Decoder Settings" button does nothing.

I've tried VMR9,VMR7, VMR9 custom, Overlay manager, all with no difference.

How can I find out what the "System Default" is set to?

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I'm not really sure. It is something to do with this. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach a complete log and I'll take a look.

There is a microsoft utility called DECCHECK that would probably show you.

Log attached.

DECCheck report that the "CyberLink Video/SP Decoder" is the "Preferred Decoder".

Can you post a log when you have the video decoder set to use the Cyberlink video decoder? It seems to be failing to find a video decoder.

Its not an expired evaluation copy of the Cyberlink decoder is it?

Hmmm.
Log attached.
When I set the video decoder to cyberlink, run gbpfr, and select "live TV", I now get the message
"Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
from gbpvr.
The log file was zipped whilst this message is on-screen.
If I select "OK" to clear this message, then re-try the live TV, gbpvr hangs, unresponsive.

I don't think Cyerlink is an eval, I can happily play DVDs using the CyberLink PowerDVD app. (assuming it's the same source as the decoder).

Sorry, I'm not sure what to suggest. Directshow is still having problems locating an appropriate set of decoders on your machine:

Quote:22:04:59.015 INFO pFG2->RenderEx(pOutputPin, AM_RENDEREX_RENDERTOEXISTINGRENDERERS, NULL) failed: -2147220968

Yes, That was the log message I had homed in on in my original post.
The really annoying thing is that for a few weeks, I had my "utopia", and now it's not working, and there's no idea why. I know the hardware works, because the Yakumo software shows A/V fine (but sucks in the recording and GUI depts), and I know gbpvr used to work, but something changed. I've even tried the Windows "System Restore" option to wind the clock back, but no difference.
You say "Directshow is still having problems locating an appropriate set of decoders on your machine"
Do you know of any path I can go down to chase this one?
Thanks again.

Not unless you want to reinstall Windows...

I'm sure you could achieve the same thing be selectively removing filters, and try and error, but I cant provide you a list of exactly what you need to do.
