I just installed my PVR-150. After trying WINTV I couldn't get it to recognize or scan for any channels. I found out about GBPVR and installed it and it scanned and recognized all the channels! Big Grin
But now for some reason when I try to watch live TV I'm getting nothing but a black screen.
It's hooked directly into the cable (RF) and I know that works so I'm wondering if I'm missing something or doing something wrong.
I'd really appreciate the help because GBPVR looks very cool.
Thanks.

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed?

I have the intervideo filter sdk for hauppauge (in the control panel) which appeared when I installed the hauppauge software mpeg decoder which I got from the hauppauge website.
I don't know if that's an mpeg2 decoder though.

Under the playback tab, VMR9 is selected.
Under hardware decoder device it says 'None-use software decoder.'
Software MPEG2 Playback-Under video decoder it says System Default.

You should choose explicit the right MPEG-2 decoder, not "system default".

its worth trying the other options here too, vmr9/vmr7/overlay. My system is a bit pants in the integrated graphics department and can't hack it using vmr9 so i get a black screen. the only usable option on my system is overlay....maybe you are suffering from the same thing.

Well I just tried overlay and for the first time the program and channel info appeared on the 'live tv' screen, but still no picture. And then the tv window gives me a 'not responding' error which never happened before.
So close.

Try viewing live tv, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.
