Hello,

I have 96.12 GBPVR installed. How do I change multiplex filters? I went to the Misc tab and selected a different one, but I still am recording in DVR-MS format.

Also, Whenever I attempt to use the commercial cleanup tool, I either get mpeg2schnitt crashing or I get a file with jerky video and no sound.

What do I do?

Thanks!

Run the BDA MUX Checker from start/programs/gbpvr. Make sure it finds more than dvr-ms.

BDA Mux Checker shows the following:
Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 4.0.1313

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0727

On the Misc tab, I selected CyberLink in the drop down box (it inly showed one CyberLink).
I tried a recording again last night and the mpeg2schnitt.exe crashed shortly after starting.

What do you suggest?

Does comskip finish and create the .txt file?

Why do you use mpeg2schnitt?
Did you try any of the other ways to clean the mpeg or to skip the commercials?

erik,

I'm using mpeg2schnitt because on the comskip site that was the latest solution set by date suggested on the site.
However, it looks like the dvr-ms to mpg conversion process is not working well. the mpg file is VERY jerky. When the process does "work" the video has no sound or mpeg2schnitt crashes.

Depending on what you use for playback you should best use comclean (for a very rought cut but very fast) or comclean3 (using mencoder for a very good cut)
mpeg2schnitt is actually a difficult option to use, its only reason could be because you want to edit the cuts also in mpeg2schnitt.
But you also can edit the cuts in Comskip.

Even though you have two Mux's installed, GBPVR (and I believe all windows programs for that matter) will only use the first one listed. The only way to force the 5.0 version is to unregister the 4.0 version. The newer one is probably better but if you aren't seeing any issues then there is no need to switch. (If it's not broken then don't fix it.) Big Grin

The author of mpeg2schnit just confirmed that on 29.97 fps material the audio cutting of mpeg2schnit is wrong.
So don't use it on ATSC or NTSC material, only on 25fps.

erik,
Are you saying to use the comclean2.bat file inside the comclean2_0_0_0.zip file? This one states it is using cuttermaran.exe instead of mencoder.exe.
Are you modifying the comclean2.bat file to use mencoder.exe instead of cuttermaran?
If so, is it a straight replacement of the executable in the comclean2.bat file?
I tried using comclean in comclean_0_0_6.zip but it used mpgtx.exe and I ended up with no sound in the file.
Regards,

Greg

comclean3.bat as can be found on my download site uses mencoder to do the cutting. It requires that output_edl=1 is set in the ini file.
It is usable as an example.
comclean2 uses cuttermaran, that's more complex
